This is a VERY nice Mexican Folk Art Ceramic Nativity Set, consisting of 12 pieces, as shown. Each piece is painted in detail, exhibiting bright, vibrant colors
This work is almost certainly that of Jorge Wilmot, though I was unable to find a signature. I'm told he often did not sign work, or hid his signature well. It would likely be difficult on small pieces. However, the style, particularly evident in the eyes, is very much his. Jorge Wilmot was one of Mexico's most distinguished modern artisans, working out of his studio in Tonala primarily. Hi died in January of 2012.
The main pieces stand about 3 1/2" tall.
