I didn't see any public outrage over Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction. I saw the same professional boob toobers trotted out for comment. Jerry Falwell, Lieberman, and such. But I didn't see or hear any public outrage over Janet Jackson.

What WAS noticable was TiVo reporting a huge number of people had saved - and continued playinig, the Janet Jackson scene. TiVo should have kept their mouth shut. No one knew - until that moment - how intrusive TiVo was.

I have a lot of faith in the public making the right decisions, staying informed. I have no faith in those who would try to take their right to participate in a democracy away from them.

There seems to be this prevailing "The people are stupid and ill-informed" feeling in this room.

If the thoughts and reasons of other reasonable people, including scientists, professors, and otherwise educated people matter regardless of their point of view, here are a few links:

As for Moore's connection concerning Bush and Osama, I know the history. It's old news. But I have the feeling, based on past performance and just what an incredible liar Moore is, that he reports it far different than what actual history was/is.

So a re-hash:

The bin Ladens of Saudi Arabia are a large family. Really huge. Osama is #15 of 51 children. The bin Ladens are also huge in world wide business. Some member of their family are tied in with nearly every business in the world. The Bush's were close to Salem bin Laden, one of 49 half brothers of Osama. They were there when Salem took off in his light plane, with 15,000 hours of flight under him, and accidentally flew his craft inito some power lines.

Everyone involved in oil has been involved with the bin Ladens. Chevron of California, the Rockefellers, Texaco (owned by Chevron), Microsoft, Harvard University, and of course, Al Gore, whose family is big in Pennsylvania oil.

You never hear about the Al Gore connection to the bin Laden family.

So in short, Osama's father embraced the capitalism that Osama despises.

Does one evil person destroy an entire family? Do you despise the seven other siblings of Jeff Dahmer?

Is the connection between the Beach Boys and the Beatles and Charles Manson a valid smear?

Depends on who you talk to.

Here is a link to Bowlingfortruth.com

Which addresses the Bush-bin Laden connections and supplies verifiable links to verifiable resources as well. Something Moore never does. Try to run down some of Moore's "resources". They never pan out.

Does that mean that Moore never tells the truth about anything? Of course not, the best liars always weave truth with half truth and lies all at the same time.

But Moore does have an audience. One happily that chooses to remain intentionally ignorant about history. And so, they repeat the same mistakes.
