Well, here is the thing. Did Michael Moore actually tell the truth this time? Unlikely. His talent is to very humorously lie through his teeth.

He strikes me as the kind of kid in high school who was always stirring up trouble where none existed, instigating fights, and lying to foment hate.

Meanwhile real people who take real time to produce real documentaries are unable to hijack Hollywood liberal thought and so, despite their years of effort, are sidelined by Moore's heavy handed B.S. and self indignant blowhard mouth.

I used to actually like this guy,

In fact, I got so into what he was doing, that I started reading about it myself, getting informed. And that's when one article after the next, I realized he was a liar. Not simply misinformed, but a liar.

The zenith to all of this came with BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE. Funny, yeah? But even watching it I kept saying to myself, "Wait a minute, that's not how it happened at all."

Then, during his interview on Larry King live, while Larry lobbed one sfotball after the next, he lightly touched on incongruities between history and what Mike had in his movie. At first, Mike started weasling, but when Larry asked him to just give an answer, the slob's shoulders started rolling, he started nervously giggling, and then said, "Hey Larry, it's all just comedy. it's just entertainment."

No doubt, Larry will run the interview again in light of Mike's new win.

I think the biggest problem that liberals are having in the U.S. today is not an electorate who are ignorant of history, but well aware of it.

The Wages of Appeasement

Despite years of U.S Universities desperately tryinig to manufacture their classes into unthinking, uncritical, lock-step liberal PC automatons.

Brainwashed

My guess is that the Internet has a lot to do with this. U.S. citizens are no longer spoon fed by a left-wing liberal U.S. media. A media that would like Americans to think that French citizens hate us - and yet - the #1 selling book in France last year called ANTI-AMERICANISM by Jean-Francois Revel. The book was pro U.S. and anti-European and it apparently struck a nerve.

Anti-Americanism

That didn't make news here. Naturally.

My wife is going to college right now to finish her degree in photography. She is also studying english. Both of her teachers at Harbor College (Los Angeles area junior college) spend a great part of class time discussing politics and both not only have a daily anti-Bush agenda, but clobber the U.S. for having been born in the first place.

Rabid Anti-Bush speak would be tolerable for many Americans including some Republicans - like me. But when it comes from the same people who are also vehemently anti-America, one smells a rat.

A friend of mine who is an actor here in LA got an minor, but abrupt wake-up call this weekend. We were having dinner at The Sizzler and our waitress recognized him. He asked if she was from Los Angeles and she said that she was from Cuba.

My friend, to curry favor with her (she was quite attractive) said, "Well, I'm not one of those Bush americans. Castro is all right with me."

SO the wrong thing to say. She abruptly stopped smiling and said, "You shouldn't say those things. He's an evil man. Castro is our Saddam."

My friend was seriously stunned. he couldn't believe that anyone from Cuba wouldn't like Castro.

"But you have free medicine!" he said.

She laughed.

"We have free medicine but we have no medicine. It's a joke in our country. Castro takes our medicine and sells it for high prices in drug stores where only tourists are allowed to shop. If we try to buy it, we go to prison."

"For how long?" my friend asked.

"For whenever." she said. "There are no set times in Cuban prisons."

So Michael Moore plays to a very select crowd at Cannes. Even movie critics who loved his BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE came away sayinig that FAHRENHEIT 9/11 is his least effort. The judges decision is so controversial that Tarantino felt obliged to announce that his decision WASN'T politically motivated.

For his part, Michael Moore claimed that he doesn't make political speeches. He also claimed that he doesn't like to create controversy. he pretended to be serious, like he does with his entire feckless life.
