Bringing up an old debate and one that is more philosophy than science, but those are the restrictions to life that we have been able to observe from our position in the universe. One, which no one would argue, is very limited in its field of view. I don't think we should be surprised by any new forms of or addaptions that life has developed to survive in "extreme" conditions. We shouldn't place strict guidelines on lifes requirments but just continue to expand those that we already accept.
