Re: Feo2: Monsanto suspends biotech wheat program (Feo Amante)

Trying to lock-in your clients with "Round-Up Ready" wheat and the pesticide is a Microsoft Way of doing buisness. It works well when the computer is smarter than the user but I doubt it will work on knowledgeable farmers.

Any gene intergrated in crops, let it be Round-Up Ready or Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) corn et al. will invernably be found all over the place (Agrobacterium sp). Nature is remarquable at spreading genes all over: think memes in The Selfish Gene

Don't believe Gaian malcontents when they tell you GMOs are bad for Nature and that you are a criminal of nature and that you lead us to a revenge from Nature. They just want government money.

Perhaps, the research should more focus on genes that code more nutritional and/or effective proteins for plant growth, as it is already given good results, as in the case of corn ( Opaque-2: High-Lysine gene) More interesting would be research like this: A better Rubisco from Non-Green Photosynthetic Algea

I laugh when I heard that the European are so worried about GMs because they are the leaders in Rubisco research. More power to them.

I am, obviusly for GMs but I think the Monsanto method of making buisness will, not only fail, but will hurt everyone, since, like said earlier, genes will find their way around patents and trying to scare everyone with their army of lawyers.
