Re: Earth's Magnetic Field (Not Telling)

Since it has been 780 000 years since the Earth's magnetic field has flipped, obviously we are due for it to flip soon. Usually it flips once every 200 000 years, so I am wondering why when we are here on Earth, does it take 780 000 years, do we have anythign to do with it?

Also, what will usually happen before a magnetic field is destroyed, like what happened to Mars?

It just seems strange that everytime humans are involved the pattern changes. Any ideas why?
