What do you call people who behave well out of consideration for others and the world around them, and do the right thing because it is the right thing to do, because it benefits humanity in the long run even though it hurts themselves at times? What do you call a person who assumes responsibility for another, not because they like it, or because they will find some personal gain or gratification for it, but because it is the best thing for the other person, and at great personal and emotional cost to themselves?
