I know this is a stupid idea but i wonder if one species of animal could be geneticaly altered to grow parts on or in it's body that it doesn't need to be harvested without hurting that animal, or harvested along with an animal that we already harvest? It sounds as cruel as it sounds stupid but we harvest wool and milk. Of couse the animal would have to live in a similar environment with a similar diet to get the same product.
How does shark fin soup made from the most select sardines sound?
I read some years back of scientists growing a human ear on a mouse.
