He prescribed antimonium, arsenic and others as medications. One of his genius ideas was that it is the dose who makes a poison become a poison.
Also, if you have time, check the geopolitical situation in europe at this epoch. In general view, poison was a quite good political argument against eventual unexpected opponents.
