I should think god would have taken away the rights of excomunication from Popes back when there were two Popes. :D

Seriously. Talk about a paperwork nightmare. Poor god, imagine if the French Pope excomunicated someone but the Italian Pope still thought they were ok.

There'd be hearings, review boards, media... What a nightmare.
