Re: Atheism (Selina)

If by atheist you are indicating a rejection of Judeo-Christian-Islamic scripture, and I presume that is what you mean, only someone of limited mental abilities could do otherwise.

The "biblical" stories are unworthy of serious consideration as anything more than serious than one would take a Disney cartoon.

Worse yet ... those that do believe in them are all, by definition, hypocrites as they selectively pick and choose those aspects they choose to believe and ignore or rationalize those they don't.

This is often seen in glaring clarity when one looks at those that preach that homosexuality is a sin ... and yet conveniently ignore that the same section of the scripture endorses keeping human slaves.

And then there is that nasty little issue of the fact that 'god' gets the credit for creating everything 'good' but is conveniently ignored for also having created everything that is bad.

Be true to yourself ... and keep your mind flexible. There isn't a surgeon in North America that doesn't cure more people in a year than Jesus did in a lifetime. And not one has had a war fought over him.
