Re: The purpose of human evolution is for life in space (Magic Lamp)

There is already life in space. It is called "planet Earth." It has been shedding viable crap into the solar system for at least 2 billion years. Small stuff is then blown out into interstellar space by the solar wind (atoms) and light pressure (photons).

Your prolix loosely reasoned essay does not carry much weight beyond its shrill amplitude. The obvious experiment is to put a sizeable contained mouse habitat within International Space Station Freedom FUBAR Space Hole One Alpha. Add some wild mice (not inbred lab mice) and let them breed at will, periodically culling the oldest to maintain reasonable numbers.

A mouse generation is a couple of months. One could easily breed 50 generations and let evolution *tell* you what is necessary for living in micro-gee. NASA's purpose is to consume budget, erect circuses and their overbillings, dole out porkbarrel politics, and provide political cynosure employment for the faithful. None of that is positively impacted by doing science.

Nobody will be Officially genetically engineering humans. Enviro-whiners won't even tolerate superior soybeans. The first country to gene-gineer a line of 250 IQ folks will crush the world in its fist.
