The coil magnet idea certainly has........all of 27 years. Thats when Ronson lighters (Leatherhead)and myself took out a British patent for a table lighter. it was rather cumbersome since Neodymiun magnets were not manufactured back then. Removing the lighter from the table opened a gas valve, and a quick shake (if you were lucky) operated the lighter.
The casual idea I mentioned above has not been around donkeys. It was just a figment of my imagination. Since the compact 'forever flashlite' has not been out for more than a couple of years. But together with those wonderful
FARAD Capacitors, it is eminently suitable to liight LED's
