My response:
The problem would be solved again the same way it was the first time.

Different individuals would try different strategies. Some would be successful and some would be dismal failures.

Those that chose a successful strategy would have offspring and those that chose poorly would soon be extinct.

Darwinian evolution isn't just a good idea ... it is the law.
