That's what I was saying. I'm not a creationist.
If an action or trait is benificial to any living thing, that action or trait will increase that living thing's odds of survival. In the case of human's, some of our traits are not just instinct, but are passed on by learning from others. If a culture's ethics were detrimental to it's survival, that would be one factor of many that would determine if that culture survived or not.
