Re: Ethics (Pasti)

Ethics is without religion.

even in those societies that have no religion, like the original forms of Buddhism and Tao, for example, Ethics still applies.

To treat your fellow human being with repsect, tolerance, and mercy, is the foundation of society - like the laws of Hammurabi - they exist without God influence. It is not a question of whether or not you will go to hell, heaven, or collect bad karma, merely a question of survival and luxury.

You'll do better with your fellow human being if you do not treat them with disrespect, disdain, or intolerance. As such, your life and the lives of those you love will be safer because your neighbor will put a measure of value on having you around.

This teamwork, facing potential foes and forces, is the ethos that makes up the foundation of ethics.

Religion has nothing to do with it, as even those from the same religion and even the same church, will find those fellow members who they neither trust or like. Factions reside in any group of more than two. You have your friends, and you have your best friends - even if you are all a bunch of atheists.
