The difference between being drugged due to injury and taking drugs for recreational purposes is choice. Sometimes, the worst thing you can give to someone is choice. People don't that. They want to be told what to do so they can blame someone if things go sour. As Dostoevsky once wrote: "... in the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'"
