I agree with you Amaranth. If the gov. did not have motives other than letting the public know about possible threats, they could just issue alerts in the news.
Many people might argue the point that there is nothing wrong with big brother keeping tabs on everything everyone does in order to make the U.S. safe to live. And they might say that people who are guilty of something are the only ones who would object to having no privacy at all.
However those people might want to ask themselves
What's next? And what kind of gov. would try to hide their Real motives?
