The Next Mission to Mars

Okay, we're going on 20 years with problem after problem with Mars probes. Hasn't anyone figured out something is going on there?

Perhaps the next Mars craft should go manned and *heavily* armed - nukes, lasers, adapted rifles, etc. We might actually find out what is causing all of this nonsense.
