It sure is a curious connundrum.
Why haven't any advanced civilizations set up some kind of Galactic Beacon understandable to the widest possible cross-section of sufficiently advanced lifeforms (please don't give the answer that maybe we are not sufficiently advanced) and announcing Galactic life?very strange. I don't buy the "they couldn't be bothered by the noise,nuissance and competition" argument either.
