There is a curious question which begs to be asked:
Why is the universe so quiet? Why haven't we received some kind of signal from some extra-terrestrial andvanced civilization?
Why had not some advanced civilization from the past already set up some kind of galactic beacon to announce galactic life?
The galaxy seems oddly quiet.
That said, I am one of those who believes that a civilization will have had to become "civilized" by the time they had reached the ability for inter-solar travel.
So I'm all for announcing our longitude and lattitude to the rest of the galaxy.
