And one could have made the same argument 100 or so years ago about creating the insterstate highway system.The entire point of so-called leaders and leadership is that they, and the "experts" we pay for are supposed to think forward ... not protect the dinosaurs of old.
With our current "leadership" we not only don't move forward on energy ... had they existed at the turn of the century we wouldn't have electrification, we wouldn't have a universal telephone system, etc. They are synaptically challenged.
