You have my sympathies, then and now. A horrible thing for any civilized society to have to go through. Carnage is carneage, and it numbs people after a while, regardless. My people have been raising cattle in this same county for close to a hundred and fifty years; but forgive me, if it came to it, my hand would be on the trigger to shoot the cows if they were infected with BSE.
I wonder what would disinfect the abattoirs sufficiently? I'm wondering if they won't just burn them and build new.
