I fully agree with you. Just want to highlight a section. In Oceanology, equilibrium state is invoking tremendous amount of living species. Each inextricably related throught the foodweb. Returning to an equilibrium stage when a casualty (human) displacement is sure, very long, and I am convinced that never reach again the initial stage. We are more related to the (only) ecosystem we have. Subtle changes have always-perverse feedback results. I apologize for the concerned scientists, but they are "learning to play" with a forbidden toy.
My text is a little bit corny, but I do my best.
