Re: Biogenetic laws and "cosmic rules" (ke)

This is a Science forum. You are asking me about Religion. This is not strictly speaking appropriate for this venue, and I ask forgiveness for this post. I intend this to be the last time I undertake to discuss religion, mine or anyone else's, on this forum. There are other places that would be more appropriate and less offensive to the other good people here whom I respect and admire and who I hope will forgive this one last time.

I have my reasons for undertaking ordination; they are intensely personal, very private, and not anyone else's business. It's between me and my own concept of the universe. The main reason I undertook ordination is because I was already doing what a minister does, and it seemed logical to obtain the credentials if I was going to do the job anyway.

I derive no financial benefit from it, neither in the form of income, gifts or taxes, increased or decreased. I take no title other than that of "Reverend", to which I am legally entitled, Others such as Goddess or Priestess or Maven being pretentious and effete, in my opinion, and lacking in humility. No one around me save my immediate family and a few close trusted friends know that I even hold the office. I repesent no one, no thing; I serve a higher power; I lift the light of truth and reason aloft and kindle it freely where there are eyes to see.

I teach much, wherever there is need. MOstly I teach patience and tolerance, acceptance of the universe and the things in it the way they are, kindness, humility, patience, love of home, hearth, family, friends, and others. I reach out to any who have need, in any way I can, with the gifts that were given to me by my heritage, genetic, mystical, familial and educational. I serve, in whatever way I find possible, to whomever I reach that is in need, whether it be a friendship, a lifeline, or comfort in time of loss or need. I serve even you. I make no distinctions as to gender, sexuality, race, creed, color, religion, age, nationality, ethnic origin, height, weight, hair color, shoe size, marital status or anything else. All are people to me. All who bear peace toward me are welcome.

I serve where I find the need. A fellow on the west coast who was going through a nasty divorce; a woman on Staten Island who is trapped in a miserable life to the point she wants to die to get away; a college student who love his family but cannot agree with them on issues he finds important; many in between and beyond. You would not understand, I guess.

Until just a few days ago only a couple of people on this forum were aware that I am a Minister. I come here to talk and hear Science; I am a Scientist, Research trained and worked at it for years until I became ill. If it's anyone's business.

Now I have talked far too much about religion in a place that is inappropriate to the subject. If I am able, I plan to produce a website soon to represent "Our Lady of the Perpetually Peaceful Pixels", a place where all peaceful folk are welcome, where thinking is honored and reason is respected. It's about creating community, opportunity, mutual respect and support. The things a churh does for its members.

The quote is from a Simon and Garfunkel song, "Keeping the Customer Satisfied", by Paul Simon, 1969

Gee but it's great to be back home
Home is where I want be;
I've been on the road so long, my friend;
And if you came along I know you couldn't disagree

It's the same old story, yeah
Everywhere I go
I get slandered, libeled,
I hear words I never heard in the Bible;
And I'm one step ahead of the shoeshine,
Two steps away from the county line,
Just trying to keep my customer satisfied, Satisfied.

Deputy Sheriff said to me,
Tell me what you come here for, boy?
You'd better get your bags and flee,
You're in trouble, boy, and now you're headed into more.

It's the same old story,
Everywhere I go
I get slandered, libeled,
I hear words I never heard in the Bible;
And I'm one step ahead of the shoeshine,
Two steps away from the county line,
Just trying to keep my customer satisfied, Satisfied.

And it's the same old story
Everywhere I go
I get slandered, libeled,
I hear words I never heard in the Bible;
And I'm so tired,
I'm oh-ho-ho so tired,
But I'm trying to keep my customer satisfied.
Satisfied.

I hope that answers your questions, because I don't intend to continue this discussion further. I have some "sheep" to tend to.

Peace.
