They do seem to have circular or whorl patterns. Of course, I've no idea if that would be true outside of looking at a 2D image.

How many of them, these multi-billions of years later, are still shining?

I wonder how many more billions of galaxies further out still that we will be able to see in another 10 years?

For my part, images like these (and a lot more in our natural universe) tells me that reality and all it holds is far too fascinating to waste my limited time chasing after, persecuting others for, and dying for faith and belief in the supernatural.
