You know, I hate to admit it, but I liked this article. Everyone who has raised any amount of stock at all, particularly swine, has had experience with this phenomenon. It seems Science is finally getting around to examining the barnyard it grew out of.

Now I wonder how those sheep got that way? You don't suppose they sat around and one day decided to be "that way", do you? Do sheep think? Are they capable of choice? Can we "cure" sheep with exhortations, exorcisms or "sheep-o-therapy"? Or are these sheep just examples of points on a broad continuum of normal sheep behavior? Looks like they just might be born that way.

It kind of counters the argument that "gayness" is an aberration that people can be "cured" of, doesn't it? Food for thought. :-)
