I hoped I made it clear. If you very precisely mesure the mass of a molecule, then the mass equivalent of the energy that holds the atoms together will also be measured, because you are measuring mass, not energy. The equivalent mass of that energy is unmeasurably small, but it still has to be accounted for. We have to remember that mass is just another form of energy. (or is energy another form of mass?)
