try antihistamines. You may be suffering from food allergies. I was diagnosed with "Irritable bowel syndrome" and found that when I took antihistamines for another allergy the symptoms diminished significantly. Benadryl is cheap and available over the counter. When I quit eating lettuce and a host of other things I found made me worse, I got better. Lettuce is not a substance for human consumption. It is fodder and should only be fed to creatures with a rumen, IMHO. Don't eat anything tha makes your problem worse. Good luck!
