I do believe you can address some diseases caused by genetics, to a point. If those 'diseases' incudes deficiencies, or inabilities to matabolize essential nutrients, some forms of foods can be supplemented in their more natural and wholesome states. Allergies would be an example.
Rather than do a genetics work-up to determine that, however, learn to listen to your body and your family's medical history.
