Nothing to do with semantics Andy.
Nobody would know what 'the eye of heaven' is, for the simple reason it has not been given an official name, the same goes for the 'eye of god' (no such names) Which is why I pointed out in my original post....'the Cats Eye Nebula' For that is the ONLY nebula name to have the word Eye in it. And thats the official name.
But you are welcome to try and convince the IAU to use the words 'God' or 'Heaven' in the naming of ANY astronomical body, if you like.
Some how I think you will be dissapointed
