Re: Hubble's "Eye of God"-NOT (Cure for Gravity)

That's kind of a blow from left field. NASA is not responsible for naming Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Deimos, Phobos, Io, Callisto, Tethys, Prometheus, And all the other satellites of Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus. You can lay most of that blame on those pagan astronomers.

No matter how secular and innocuous the image, people with lots of imagination and religious fervor will always try to see things that aren't there. It's just a huge ball of superheated gas, people. You can see the smaller version at your state legislature on a day when there's a lively debate going on. Or when the home team is playing in the stadium.

Somebody always has to sully the vast beauty and grandeur of the universe by "seeing things" in it. It's there; it doesn't require interpretation. Accept it for the magnificence it shows. From some other angle it's probably dull as mud. We got the view. Don't turn it into demons to frighten bad little children with.
