One does not 'bark up a dead tree' or 'beat a wrong horse'. Instead, one 'barks up the wrong tree' or 'beats a dead horse'.

Still, you're doing neither, here at least. Still again, by linking and referencing an Area51 website, I tend to believe you are less than serious in your quest for reality. While you may find real science in places such as those, you are more likely to find fantasy that is at best very loosely based on science. Same goes for MSNBC, sorry to say, at least as it regards science.

Best to stick to the dot EDU sites until you learn your way around. This site’s okay but there are not many experts here and those that are here would rather belittle you than educate you.
