I am doing some research for a sci-fi story but before you turn me off as a leach or a nut, I would appreciate any links or leads to information about the condensation or formation of new matter from the quantum "flux". I am willing to do the reading myself. Let me explain the technique I want to use/describe/create.

Glassy crystal material is created from subatomic particals. This material becomes the transmitting crystal for a quantum communicator - an instantanious "sub-space" low data rate form of communication.

Am I barking up a dead tree or is there anything I can hang my visionary communicator on?
