I don't know how many watts a refrigerator takes to run, but I'd be willing to bet that some of the people who were in the path of Hurricane Isabel recently would have been really glad to have one of those units. I admit the price is a bit on the steep side, and I suspect that will come down as more are made, but if your doctoral thesis is in that refrigerator it might behoove you to think abou the investment. One person said that they went outside, while the power lines were still down, and that the roar of gasoline powered generators was deafening. Everyone had their portable gasoline powered generators out running in their yards, because you can't run them inside safely, and the racket was so loud they couldn't stand to be outside. Hydrogen fuel cells begin to look very attractive at that point.
