Look up the definition of "hardness." Titrate a known volume of water with standardized soap solution. When you get foam you know the hardness of the aliquot - at worst with a unit conversion.
How do you know the titrant is properly stanardized?
You haven't attended lecture nor have you cracked your textbook. I doubt you could find the department or campus library with a map. You haven't worked Google.
