Thanks for the explanation. I hope I understand you right: that we need a physical experiment to test the present gravity theory, the Equivalence Principle in particular. Is the present theory of gravity "A self-consistent axiomatic geometry" and therefore not much use in advancing further, or do I misunderstand.
