Say what?

Below a bit, in response to Paul's descriptive note about a chickadee nest on his porch, I shared something about a dead tree I have, explaining why I haven't yet cut the eye sore down ... some local bumblebees think it to be a diner. One in particular, Sawdust, has been so named because as the bees bore their way into the softer innards of the tree, small "poofs" of what is, well, sawdust can be seen being flung away and falling from it.
I chose to describe all of this, however, by way of a short poem. It was silly, being quite hastily conjured up, but then again, the intent wasn't simply to share my observation. I thought also to pour some honey on what otherwise might have been a good, yet still somewhat flavorless description of noted genus Bombus habits.
Experimenting like that, I have found, not only can be fun to do, but also can be quite enlightening, for it allows the mind to make associations that might not otherwise be made. Often, such sweetening can turn even the most difficult to swallow Science into a more tasty and memorably delectable treat!
That said, some of the material presented at the URLs listed in this thread definitely could use a hundred or three gallons of honey! Such natural wonders so brilliantly displayed shamefully can never be beheld by the eyes of the masses. Sadder still, neither to know of them are the eyes of the purest and most natural of all scientists, children. Indeed, I think I will forever question the value of such... wisdom?
