"Aristocracy" in sense one, with a metaphoric twist. Your piece was worded roughly in places, lacking the literary fluidity, governance, and sophistication present in your "Escape" material.
Interestingly, this gave the work the texture and flavor of beef-jerky - choppy, tough and dry, with a dash of some anarchistic and nearly barbaric spice - making it perfectly prepared and seasoned for discussing the subject of Stress ... as you, I suspect, already well know.
'Twas a "checked" compliment I gave, nothing more. Or is that nothing less? :-)
