A wannabe discussion with my soon-to-be friend Dan

Your comment to KM near the bottom of this page concerns me a bit. Are you trying to force a decision by her? Are you trying to make her decide which of we two she likes to read most? As if to continue she'd have to delete the other?

I think, perhaps, you either read too much, or too little, in that story, or stories, I write. It is only a vehicle. One meant mostly for the young. A fun and very fast car they can drive to scientific knowledge they've never known. That, of course, assumes a fast ride is what they prefer. But the young, it has been in my experience to note, prefer the fastest most exciting ride they can find.

The science in it depends upon the remarks and replies pertaining to it. Not at the moment, but later. Later when I regard them, and incorporate them as best I can. It is, at the very least, harmless internet fun, and, if my theory is correct, potentially scientifically and logically enlightening as well.

The goal of this particular dialog is to escape from that place described, with further discriptors forthcoming as the queries request them. No boundary or physical impediment described in it are outside the realm of that which is currently well within the technological ability and achievements of our species to date.

Some things may seem like magic, but that’s just because they haven’t been explored by the reader, and have not, therefore, been expounded upon by the writer. This is not really SciFi. It’s SciReal. Or as real as I can make it given my somewhat less-than extensive knowledge of that subject in particular. I'm working on my masters in education. It’s just a teaching tool I’m exploring. To see if it’s worth it’s sodium-chloride...er...salt.

Only science will do to effect any sort of rescue. Dreams and opinions and comments and rhetoric will be incorporated in the story too...but they will not suffice to advance the story to it's ultimate goal.

For that, science is needed. And logic. A lot of that. And cleverness. Some of that. And brutality. A little of that. And submissiveness...no, none of that. Well, none of that perhaps, for one can never tell what final scientific charm might melt the fence, or eradicate the keepers, should they actually even exist. And doing that is what allows the story to naturally conclude. With style I hope.

Hey! Think again you. This is perfect for this forum I think. I know ‘cause I lurked and learned the knowledge-base of this place. Give me some room. And I’ll give you room too. Enough to let you move from topic to topic, whichever you choose, as you see fit. I’ll not disagree with thee, my future friend Dan, that antagonist Morgan-he.
