Smart 2, ambitious brainchild of the European Space Agency (ESA) is designing the payload and control technologies needed to establish whether there is a Black Hole in the center of our Galaxy.
"Lisa" (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna) now a joint venture between ESA and NASA, will launch 3 equillateral positioned space craft linked by lasers to try and detect Black Holes and Gravity waves in 2010. NASA will provide the launch vehicle, telecommunications and 50% of the payload. While ESA will provide the three identical spacecraft, and other European Institutes the rest of the payload.

**Thoughts--Well so far, theres been no luck in detecting Gravity Waves from the ground based laser system. I guess a space detecting system should be a thousand times more sensitive?
My guess is the 'boffins'are very worried regarding
the true nature and driving force of the universe, since the discovery of the mysterious unknown force (which appears to be stronger than gravity in space)...and which is expanding the Universe ever faster.
