Re: thermodynamic laws (paul)

Seriously,

Not to sound snooty, but there are tons of good books in any used book store that go into as great a detail as you could possibly want on this subject. Moreover, any decent book store would have a few books directed to this subject. And not only that, your public library should have a large number of books on this subject.

Various mathematical details of thermodynamics are complicated (not necessarily difficult) when we get into the dynamics. But that's an intrigue for engineers trying to solve specific problems. The basic law is easy to comprehend.

With every post and ever sweeping generalization you make, you show that you not only don't understand it, but I suspect you've never sat down with a book on the subject and just read about it. As such, your posts remind me of that cartoon where the scientist works out a comlex formula on a chalkboard and in between his calculations and result, are the words "Then A Miracle Occurs!"

Read back over your posts because you keep doing the same thing. You gloss over or toss off important calculations (like the water at elbow height). This last post shows you don't even have an understanding of the variables of energy/heat generation.

Please. Read a good book about Thermodynamics. Since you are so interested in this subject. Study it a bit. Read a few books. What's it gonna hurt?
