Re: Suppressed Plans found for 200 mpg Car (Mike Kremer)

Using LPG rather than gasoline obviates the carboretor mist problem entirely. The fuel-air mixture goes in as a well-mixed homogeneous gas. LPG vehicles have unremarkable mileage even allowing for the difference in mass/gallon of fuel and ignoring the very real advantage of chilling the intake stream to give higher effective compression at the same stroke stats.

There is an annual mileage competition in which the participants routinely get outrageous numbers. A bicycle has much better performance.

Hybrid vehicles show that 70 mpg is entirely attainable with conservative engineering and customary vehicle peformance. If you want to "save the nation" by decreasing petroleum consumption,

1) Ban SUVs and luxury cars,
2) Synchronize traffic lights.

(1) is an enroachment upon "rights" (appetites). That (2) has never been mandated tells you how much Washington cars about the oil "crisis."
