I disagree. Money is a finite resource. So one must make allocation decisions.
Which will do more to improve the quality of life on this planet? Some 75 year old living to 85 or a newborn living to 75?
And lets not just deal with this from the standpoint of individual desires but rather from the standpoint of the species as a whole. What are the costs of each?
1. What is the cost of overpopulation caused by families compensating for anticipated costs?
2. What is the cost of education and healthcare wasted on people that never become productive?
3. What is the cost in terms of wars and terrorism caused by envy of those like us?I'm likely the oldest person here, or certainly close to it, and I would favor stopping all fertility research and almost all geriatric research on concentrate our efforts on improving the quality of life for those already born and who likely will not make it to age 70.
