Seems a reasonable strategy to me. I will destroy all the oilfields and spray them with anthrax and Cesium-137.

After the war, you will have to care for all the 22.6 million Iraqis without any oil income for many decades. You have to give them a living standard much higher than they enjoy now, otherwise your president will have suffered a political defeat. Like the Soviet Union had to pump billions in Cuba's economy to prove to the world that Communism is superior to Capitalism, Bush has to pump many billions in Iraq's economy to prove that he has done the right thing. That means that the U.S. has to pay about 500 dollars per month per Iraqi, that's about 11 billion dollars per month, or 132 billion dollars per year. The U.S. will go bankrupt, and I will have won!
