I've read several items in ChemAbs and BioAbs just this year that established that some earth bacteria are more than capable of surviving the radiation levels, temperature, and desication present in meteroids.
In fact there is quite a collection of very happy bacterii floating around in our upper atmosphere well above most of the earth's protective shield.
