A) "New Scientist" is much closer to the "National Enquirer" than a refereed journal.
B) "If pigs could fly..."
C) Blowing up your device each time you run it has limited appeal.
D) More studies are needed. Send funding.

Anybody interested should read the Phys. Rev. Lett. article not the hype. Note that building photonic crystals is a labor of Hercules all by itself.

Remember the IBM BEAMOS device that was going to revolutionize comptuer memory, or the IBM 10-layer CDROM that was going to revolutionize CDROMs; the Patriot missile, President Reagan's China Clipper, the nuclear-pumped x-ray laser...
