It is a Magic Eye construction. If you look beyond the screen to overlap central images from each eye by one notch, you see the teapot against a concave "v" background (like a fume hood rear vent).
More to the point, if you overlap by more notches, you see THREE teapots. A scientist's first duty is to identify the real probem.
