I beg to differ. If there were spatial 2 dimensions, life could not be very complex. If there were 4 or more, circular orbits are not stable. Unbalance the nuclear and electromagnetic forces a little bit, and you end up with either universe without hydrogen or one with too much.
These claims are not to be deried as mere 'popular science,' they are real -- more examples are on page 6-8 of that paper.
From a purely naturalistic perspective, there cannot be only one set of physical laws and/or constants.
