What I am referring to is that a hologram is a two dimensional recording of wavefronts. And from that two dimensional image we can reconstruct a three dimensional picture.
What happens if I can record a six, eight, or ten dimensional image and then reconstruct? Do I get seven, nine, and eleven dimensional pictures? And if I do ... do they accurately reflect our universe?
I suspect they would/could. Nothing solid here ... just a suspicion.
And if one can wrap their brain around a projection of wavefronts generating s multidimensional image ... it isn't that difficult to imagine recursion ... in which the projection engine recursively interacts with itself. Nor is it difficult to imagine a different projection projecting all of those wavefronts into a mathematical point.
Does that clarify it? This is not anyone's extant theory as far as I know. It is just one of those little mental puzzles on which I sometimes push myself.
Remember ... mass does not need to exist as a physical entity. It just needs to be the analogy we apply to explain what we observe.
